blended ROAS
D2C skincare marketing that turned paid social into profitable growth
This D2C skincare marketing programme began with a brand that relied on paid social alone while ROAS slid and few customers reordered. Six months of creative testing on Meta, lifecycle email and SMS, and repaired server-side tracking took blended ROAS from 1.6x to 3.1x.

Where they started
Paid social was the only growth lever, ROAS was falling and repeat purchase was low.
The approachWhat we changed
Rebuilt the Meta account around creative testing, launched lifecycle email and SMS flows, and fixed server-side tracking.
What other businesses can take from this
Skincare brands often build their first sales on Meta, and for a while one good ad carries everything. Then the creative tires, the same audiences see it again and again, and the cost of each sale creeps up. Because skincare is a repeat category, the bigger leak usually comes after the first order: no reminder when a product runs out, and no reason to try a second item. Weak tracking makes it worse, because the ad platform optimises on partial data.
The lesson for other brands is to treat creative as a testing system rather than a one-off shoot, and to give existing customers as much attention as new ones. Email and SMS flows cost little to run once built, and repeat purchase here rose 38%. Fixing server-side tracking early also matters, since every later budget decision depends on those numbers.
This approach fits a consumable product with a clear reorder cycle and a brand already spending on paid social.
